First Feed

The first mother’s feed is an infection barrier which protects the baby lifelong. So, this should be the first thing that enters the baby’s system and be given as soon as possible after birth.

2. Helping baby to self latch
3. Placement and deep latch assistance

First feed support for mother:
1. Proper positioning to ensure latch
2. Advice on process to be followed to make deep latch happen
3. In case latch doesn’t happen, helping mother to express the colustrum for first feed
